Editorial policy
Our aim is to make public issues easier to follow without overstating what can be known. We distinguish explanation from opinion, keep claims proportionate and welcome careful scrutiny.
Accuracy and context
Writers should check factual claims against suitable sources, use terms consistently and provide enough context to avoid misleading shorthand. We do not treat an assertion as established merely because it is repeated. When evidence is uncertain, accounts differ or a topic is changing, the wording should make that clear.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader relevance and clarity. A relationship with a partner does not determine our conclusions, and we do not promise favourable coverage in return for support.
Corrections
Readers can report an error through the Contact page. We review specific, verifiable concerns and correct material errors clearly, with an explanation where useful. We may also revise wording when it could leave a misleading impression.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored or partner material is identified as such near the material, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, we label them and do not present them as documentary photographs.
